Sport in Wrocław has a long tradition dating back to the city’s post-war history. Even amidst the ruins of Breslau, the residents had the opportunity to play their first matches, and in the years that followed, the people of Wrocław went on to achieve great success.
Over the past 80 years, Wrocław’s sportspeople have excelled in numerous disciplines. Some on Polish pitches, others at international competitions, and still others by conquering the world’s highest peaks. They always managed to come out on top, whatever the circumstances. Even in doing so, they often had to face unusual difficulties arising from living under an oppressive system.
Join our guided tour, during which you’ll have the chance to learn about the history of post-war sport and find out: which Wrocław residents broke world records? What was the name of the first European woman to climb Mount Everest? And what was the former name of Wrocław’s Olympic Stadium?
The guided tour is also combined with a unique opportunity to take part in linocut workshops led by our specialists. During these workshops, participants will have the chance to create unique works of art using this fascinating technique.
