Zapraszamy na pierwsze w ponad 700-letniej historii Zamku w Szymbarku profesjonalne, pełnoformatowe wy-darzenie kulturalne - koncert Midge’a Ure’a - gwiazdy nurtu new romantic i lidera Ultravox oraz The Dumplings – polskiej rewelacji alternatywnego popu. Na tle monumentalnych ruin zamkowych w dniu 13 lipca 2024 r. koncert zainauguruje cykliczne wydarzenia kulturalne w ramach projektu „Castle Nights”.

Midge Ure – legendarny muzyk, geniusz synth-popu, były lider i wokalista zespołu Ultravox, a także współorganizator jednego z największych charytatywnych koncertów Live Aid. Obdarzony elektryzującym głosem Artysta podczas wieloletniej kariery nie tylko kształtował dzieje światowej muzyki w latach 80tych poprzez takie utwory jak „Vienna”, “Dancing With Tears In My Eyes” czy “The Voice”, ale osiągnął liczne sukcesy i uznanie jako solowy artysta. Jego ponadczasowa twórczość muzyczna, oparta na melodyjnych refrenach i przeszywającym, syntezatorowym brzmieniu zagości w niezwykłej scenerii XIV-wiecznej zabytkowej architektury w otoczeniu ma-zurskich lasów i Jeziora Szymbarskiego. The Dumplings wraca powoli po uśpieniu koncertowym z 2019 roku i przygotowuje się do świętowania 10 rocz-nicy swojego debiutu. Na co mogą liczyć ich fani z tej okazji? Musicie śledzić ich poczynania, bo szykuje się wielka feta! Do tej pory The Dumplings wydało 3 płyty. „No Bad Days”, „Sea You Later” i „RAJ”. Mają na koncie setki koncertów w Polsce i zagranicą. Gościli m.in. na scenie Open’er, Off Festival, Męskie Granie, Orange Festival, SXSW, Sziget, The Great Escape czy Liverpool Sound City.

Zamek w Szymbarku to spektakularne, dobrze zachowane ruiny czternastowiecznego zamku we wsi Szymbark, koło Iławy (województwo warmińsko-mazurskie). Zamek został zbudowany przez kapitułę pomezańską, a na-stępnie przekształcony w rezydencję rodową najznamienitszej rodziny Prus Wschodnich – von Finckenstein. Jest drugim po Malborku, największym zamkiem gotyckim w Polsce. Zamek przetrwał w nienaruszonym stanie II wojnę światową, jednakże został splądrowany i spalony przez Armię Czerwoną po wyzwoleniu Polski. Według różnych źródeł zamek jest jednym z miejsc, w którym ukryta jest słynna bursztynowa komnata.

Fundacja Zamek Szymbark sprawująca od 2019 r. pieczę nad procesem rewitalizacji zamku wraz z Mecenasem Kultury Fundacją Heritage Poland Group wspólnie z producentem wydarzenia Progresja Music Zone sp. z o.o. rozpoczynają koncertem Migde’a Ure’a cykl wydarzeń kulturalnych w ramach projektu „Castle Nights”.

We invite you to the first professional, full-scale cultural event in the over 700-year history of the Szymbark Castle - a concert by Midge Ure - a star of the new romantic genre and leader of Ultravox and The Dumplings - a Polish alternative pop sensation. Against the background of monumental castle ruins, on July 13, 2024, a con-cert will inaugurate cyclical cultural events as part of the "Castle Nights" project.

Midge Ure – legendary musician, synth-pop genius, former leader and vocalist of the band Ultravox, as well as co-organizer of one of the largest charity concerts, Live Aid. Endowed with an electrifying voice, during his many years of career the Artist not only shaped the history of world music in the 1980s through songs such as "Vienna", "Dancing With Tears In My Eyes" and "The Voice", but also achieved numerous successes and recog-nition as a solo artist. His timeless musical work, based on melodic choruses and piercing synthesizer sound, will appear in the extraordinary scenery of 14th-century historic architecture surrounded by Masurian forests and Szymbarskie Lake. According to the unforgettable Tomasz Beksiński journalist, Ultravox's music is "the most romantic of romantic music". The Dumplings is slowly coming back after the concert hiatus of 2019 and is preparing to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut. What can their fans expect on this occasion? You have to follow their activities, because a great celebration is coming! So far, The Dumplings have released 3 albums. "No Bad Days", "Sea You Later" and "PARADISE". They have performed hundreds of concerts in Po-land and abroad. They hosted, among others: on the stage of Open'er, Off Festival, Męskie Granie, Orange Festival, SXSW, Sziget, The Great Escape and Liverpool Sound City.

Szymbark Castle is a spectacular, well-preserved ruin of a 14th-century castle in the village of Szymbark, near Iława (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship). The castle was built by the Pomesan Chapter and then transformed into the ancestral residence of the most distinguished family of East Prussia - von Finckenstein. It is the second largest Gothic castle in Poland, after Malbork. The castle survived World War II intact, but was plundered and burned by the Red Army after the liberation of Poland. According to various sources, the castle is one of the places where the famous amber room is hidden.

The Zamek Szymbark Foundation, which has been supervising the castle revitalization process since 2019, to-gether with the Patron of Culture, the Heritage Poland Group Foundation, together with the event producer, Progresja Music Zone sp. z o.o. begin a series of cultural events as part of the „Castle Nights” project with a concert by Migde Ure.
